The International Friends have great pleasure in inviting you for a day out in Amsterdam to visit the exciting new exhibition at H’ART Museum, From Rembrandt to Vermeer: Masterpieces from the Leiden Collection.
We will enjoy a private guided tour of the highly anticipated exhibition, which features 18 works by Rembrandt along with paintings by such renowned artists as Frans Hals, Jan Steen, Ferdinand Bol, Gerard Dou, Frans van Mieris and Maria Schalcken. The exhibition’s jewel in the crown is a remarkable painting by Johannes Vermeer, restored especially for the occasion.
Following the tour, we will have a 15-minute walk to the heart of Rembrandt’s lively Nieuwmarkt neighbourhood to enjoy a cosy lunch in Restaurant-Café In de Waag. The medieval Waag building was originally one of the old city gates and home to the Guild of Surgeons where Rembrandt painted part of his compelling Anatomy Lesson of Dr Nicolaes Tulp in 1632.
