House rules and liability
Our Wi-Fi network is intended for our visitors who want to look up information on the internet, read emails or connect to social media.
Accessing the Mauritshuis Wi-Fi network from outside the museum is not permitted.
We cannot make any commitments or provide any guarantees regarding the range and quality of the connection, or the speed and availability of our network. Nor can we guarantee that the device you are using will be able to connect to our Wi-Fi network. We do not offer any support with setting up a connection to our Wi-Fi network. Furthermore, we reserve the right to deactivate the wireless network at any time for maintenance purposes.
As a user of the Wi-Fi network, you undertake not to cause any disruption and/or damage to other users, the internet or the network.
Our visitors are not permitted to use our Wi-Fi network to:
• connect a device that acts as a server or offers services on the internet;
• establish peer-to-peer connections and stream data traffic;
• send spam, such as large quantities of email messages or posts to newsgroups;
• distribute viruses, including Trojan horses, Key Loggers or similar programmes;
• send bulk email, including sending large quantities of unsolicited email messages to a single email address or to servers with a specific IP address;
• distribute material of a pornographic or child pornographic nature, or discriminatory and/or racist content;
• stalk or otherwise make unwanted advances towards third parties;
• gain unauthorised access to other computers, telephones or computer systems;
• infringe the intellectual property rights of third parties;
• make our Wi-Fi network available, in whole or in part, to third parties, or allow it to be used in any way for the commercial provision of services to third parties.
We monitor browsing behaviour and block websites if, in our opinion, they contravene public decency and/or public order. We reserve the right to terminate your connection.
Use of our Wi-Fi network is entirely at your own risk. Data traffic via the network is unencrypted and may be recorded, intercepted or stored (without your knowledge) by third parties. We accept no liability for unauthorised access by third parties. Our visitors are responsible for protecting their devices and the software and files stored on them. We shall not be liable under any circumstances for any internet or network outages and/or loss of data or loss of income resulting from technical or other faults.
Users of our Wi-Fi network are liable for any loss or damage incurred by the Mauritshuis as a result of any act or omission in breach of these terms and conditions and shall indemnify the Mauritshuis against any claims from third parties arising therefrom.
