Did you know that until 1875, there weren't just one, but two museums to visit in the Mauritshuis? On the upper floor, you could admire the Royal Cabinet of Paintings. Those artworks are still there. But can you imagine that the ground floor was completely filled with thousands of objects? They have all disappeared by now. This part of the museum was called the Royal Cabinet of Rarities.

We're going to restore Potter's legendairy (get it?) painting The Bull. The preliminary investigation kicked off at the beginning of 2023. At A Peek at Potter, you dive into the details of a two-year restoration journey and catch the juiciest tidbits about one of the most popular Dutch paintings. The Brazilian artist Daiara Tukano's colourfull mural concludes our major nationwide project Museum Murals. 20 museums, 20 street artists, 20 walls. We are enormously proud that the whole of the Netherlands has been made a little more beautiful by 20 different artists. The wall before you enter the museum has been transformed by Daiara. What inspired her? The history of our museum, several paintings or one specific painting? Find out!
