Its mission is to ensure that everyone gets a good education and is prepared for responsibility and independence. The Ministry also wants people to enjoy the arts, and aims to create the right conditions for teachers, artists and researchers to do their work.

Rembrandt Society
For more than 130 years, the Rembrandt Society has been fulfilling its mission to preserve unique paintings for the Netherlands. With a collective patronage of twelve thousand art-loving members, it helps Dutch museums with special art purchases.
Did you know that the Mauritshuis was the first museum to benefit from the support of the Rembrandt Society? With support from the Rembrandt Society the Mauritshuis was able to purchase over 50 paintings. Famous acquisitions include Laughing Boy by Frans Hals, As the Old Sing, So Pipe the Young by Jan Steen and Portrait of an Old Man by Rembrandt.

Domain Partner: Lely
The Mauritshuis is partnering with the agricultural family company Lely from Maassluis for a three-year period. The reason for the collaboration is the upcoming restoration of the world-famous painting De stier (The Bull) from 1647 by Paulus Potter.

Funds
Funds are important cornerstones for us in realising a wide range of special projects. These could be purchases, exhibitions, publications or educational projects.
