Victor Moussault held the position of Deputy Director at the Mauritshuis since 1 January 2007. The main project during his time at the museum was the management of the major building project that was completed in 2014. The Mauritshuis was the first national museum in the Netherlands to manage and finance a building project itself, and not the Government Building Agency. Under his daily management, the complex building project was realised in two years – on time and within budget. He was also responsible for the contractual and financial agreements for a major travelling exhibition to Japan, the United States of America and Italy, which took place at the same time as the building project.
Victor Moussault: ‘After ten years at the Mauritshuis and after having completed a major building project, this is a very natural time to take a new step in my career. I look back on my time at the Mauritshuis with great pleasure. I am proud of what we achieved together and of the deep commitment of staff and volunteers to the museum.’
It is not yet known who will succeed Victor Moussault. The Supervisory Board of the Mauritshuis is currently recruiting a new Deputy Director.
