What happens when new masters pick up where old masters left off? Find out in our photography exhibition FLASH | BACK. Sixteen leading photographers - including Erwin Olaf, Rineke Dijkstra and Anton Corbijn – have created new work inspired by the 17th-century paintings in our collection.
The result is sixteen photographs, one for each room in the Mauritshuis. The new works will be displayed alongside the 17th-century works that inspired them. Once you have seen these modern masterpieces, you will never look at Rembrandt, Vermeer or Steen in the same way.
