One of our most famous paintings, The Bull by Paulus Potter, is being restored! It is the largest painting in our collection.

The restoration is accessible to everyone and can be experienced live at our museum. And to celebrate that, we have renamed a number of Saturdays in 2024 as Bull's Saturday. You are more than welcome to join us for a fun afternoon filled with activities.

Activities for the entire family

  • In our workshop you can paint your own bull. Reservations are not necessary, you can just walk in!
    10:30 - 14:30.
  • Art restoration tours: We meet in front of the big screen in the foyer: 11:30 - 12:30(English), 13:00 - 14:00 (Dutch), 15:00 - 16:00 PM (Dutch)
  • Lecture by the restorers Abbie Vandivere and Jolijn Schilder about the first results of their investigations into the painting: 14:00 - 14:45 (Dutch). After the lecture, you are welcome to stick around and ask any question you like. The lecture is free to attend, but please reserve in advance via stier@mauritshuis.nl.
