In 2023, our global call to submit your own versions of Girl with a Pearl Earring sparked an explosion of creativity. Out of 3,482 submissions, 170 were displayed for 8 weeks in her place at the Mauritshuis. Many creators came specifically to see their work, even from the United States.

After her return, the Girl-themed artworks kept on coming in. Time for round 2! Together with the digital art center Fabrique des Lumieres and Nationale-Nederlanden, we’ve created a new Girl experience. We proudly present: #mygirlwithapearl - The Immersive Edition. Together, we are giving artists worldwide another chance to share their unique creations.

#mygirlwithapearl - The Immersive Edition

Starting September 4, creative interpretations of our Girl will visually come to life in the 'culture space' at Fabrique des Lumières. Experience 17th-century art in a fresh, funny, original, and thrilling way. In seven minutes, you'll see huge range of Girls, accompanied by specially composed music. Feeling inspired afterward? Get involved and send us your version of Vermeer's world-renowned icon.

A brilliant pairing

Fabrique des Lumières #mygirlwithapearl – The Immersive Edition is an addition to the already existing Dutch Masters show. This is the final puzzle piece that truly brings the Girl artworks to life. Naturally, we are immensely proud of this perfect match.

Get featured at the Mauritshuis

Have you always wanted to see your artwork displayed in a museum? Now's your chance! Until December 1st, you can submit your unique version of Girl with a Pearl Earring. Our jury will then curate a final selection of works that will shine in the Mauritshuis.

Let your imagination run wild: Will you choose pen, pencils, or crayons? Or perhaps more unusual materials like rubber bands, buttons, cat hair, or any other materials? Anything goes, and we love to be surprised.
